Afghan soldier attacks French troops

Baku-APA. An Afghan soldier has fired a rocket-propelled grenade at an outpost manned by French and Afghan troops in Kapisa province in northeastern Afghanistan, APA reports quoting presstv.ir website.

The attack which took place on Tuesday caused no casualties, the French military said.

"It missed and nobody was injured. The soldier fled and we haven’t caught him," Reuters quoted the French Armed Forces spokesman, Colonel Thierry Burkhard, as saying.

Several similar incidents have taken place in Afghanistan over the past months. Two Spanish police and an interpreter were killed by an Afghan policeman in August.

There were measures put in place last year to tightly monitor the recruitment of new man power by the army in Afghanistan.
