Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil blasted US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as an “expert in promoting coups and regime change,” accusing him of steering the United States toward wars rejected by the American public, APA reports, citing almayadeen.net.
In a statement, Gil said US policies have led to Washington’s failure on the international stage, leaving behind "blood and death across different parts of the world," emphasizing that an approach based on intervention and pressure has produced nothing but deeper instability.
Gil also condemned Rubio’s “hate-filled rhetoric” toward Latin America and the Caribbean, calling it a “profound political and moral failure," and stressed that Rubio does not serve the interests of the American people, but instead acts on behalf of “Miami mafias” that fund lobbying groups backing him.
Venezuela's top diplomat stressed that all US attacks on Venezuela, along with the “fake news,” are aimed at seizing the country’s oil, land, minerals, and natural resources. He reaffirmed that Venezuela will continue to defend its sovereignty and its rights.
