US will pay illegal immigrants $3,000 for voluntary self-deportation before New Year

The US administration has decided to increase the reward for illegal immigrants voluntarily leaving the country to $3,000, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, this payment will be made to those who apply for so-called self-deportation by the end of this year, APA reports.

"This holiday season, American taxpayers generously tripled the incentive for undocumented immigrants to leave the country voluntarily. Through the end of the year, undocumented immigrants who self-deport using the CBP Home App will be eligible for a $3,000 bonus," she wrote in X.

As before, the US government will pay for their plane tickets. Furthermore, fines and other penalties for immigration violations will be forgiven.

Since January of this year, 1.9 million undocumented immigrants have taken advantage of the opportunity to self-deport to the United States.
