U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the situation in Yemen and security issues in the Middle East in a telephone conversation, according to a written statement by U.S. Secretary of State Tommy Pigott, deputy spokesman for the U.S. Department of State, APA reports.
According to him, the US Secretary of State and the UAE Foreign Minister "discussed the situation in Yemen and broader issues impacting security and stability in the Middle East." Earlier that day, the State Department reported that Rubio and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud also held a phone call in which they discussed "ongoing tensions in Yemen."
