The new settlement plan presented by the United States regarding Ukraine includes provisions for recognising Crimea and Donbas as Russian territories, APA reports, citing Axios.
According to the publication, “the United States and other countries would recognise Crimea and Donbas as Russian territory, but Ukraine would not be required to do so.”
The report notes that the plan also envisions treating the areas in Donbas that Ukraine would concede as a demilitarised zone.
“Although these territories would remain under Russian control, the parts of Donbas that Ukraine would give up would be designated as a demilitarised zone, and Russia would not be allowed to deploy military forces there,” the portal emphasised.
