US President Donald Trump announced that steel tariffs will be increasing to 50%, doubling what they previously were, during remarks at a US Steel plant outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, APA reports citing CNN.
The president initially imposed sweeping 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminum imported into the United States in March.
“We are going to be imposing a 25% increase, we’re going to bring it from 25% to 50% the tariffs on steel into the United States of America,” the president said to cheers from the crowd today.
