UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is concerned about Israel's strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities and calls on the parties to exercise maximum restraint, said Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for the head of the world organization, APA reports.
"The Secretary-General condemns any military escalation in the Middle East. He is concerned about Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran, while he is negotiating with the United States over its nuclear program," the statement said.
"The Secretary-General urges both sides to exercise maximum restraint and avoid escalating the conflict at all costs," said Farhan Haq.
