United States President Donald Trump reiterated his belief that the US needs Greenland for national security, a statement he consistently made earlier on in the year, APA reports.
"Not for minerals. We have so many sites for minerals and oil and everything... We need Greenland for national security," Trump said when asked about his naming of Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as the US Special Envoy to Greenland. "I didn't call him, he called me, he's very proactive," Trump noted.
"If you take a look at Greenland, you look up and down the coast, you have Russian and Chinese ships all over the place. We have to have it," he stressed, calling Greenland "a big deal."
