U.S. President Donald Trump suggested Thursday that Russia’s war on Ukraine could be nearing its end after he held talks with both sides, APA reports citing the New York Post.
“Great talks with Russia and Ukraine yesterday,” Trump, 78, said in an early Truth Social post.
“Good possibility of ending that horrible, very bloody war!!”
The commander-in-chief’s remarks come a day after he revealed that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to start talks “immediately” to bring an end to Europe’s largest and deadliest land conflict since World War II.
“We expect that he’ll come here, and I’ll go there, and we’re going to meet also, probably in Saudi Arabia,” he told reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
He later added that he would be calling President Volodymyr Zelensky to inform him of his planned talks in a bid to kickstart the negotiating process.
