Canada will allocate 20 million Canadian dollars (approximately 15 million USD) for the repair and maintenance of Ukrainian Leopard 2 tanks in Poland, Canadian Defense Minister David J. McGuinty announced during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG), APA reports citing RBC Ukraine.
McGuinty announced that Canada will contribute an additional 20 million CAD to support the Leopard 2 tank service and maintenance center in Poland.
This funding is part of Canada's 2025–2026 defense investment package aimed at supporting Ukraine's military needs.
The defense minister also confirmed a previously announced commitment by Prime Minister Mark Carney in June: an additional 2 billion CAD (approximately 1.48 billion USD) in military assistance for Ukraine.
In total, since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, Canada has pledged approximately 6.5 billion CAD (around 5 billion USD) in military aid to Ukraine.
