U.S. federal govt reports 232 bln USD budget deficit in Feb.

Baku-APA. The U.S. Treasury Department announced on Monday that the federal government registered 231.7- billion-dollar budget deficit in February, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

This marked the biggest monthly budget imbalance in history, and was 9.2 billion dollars higher than the previous record of 222. 5 billion dollars registered in February 2011.

The U.S. federal government raked in a revenue of 103.4 billion dollars last month, and registered outlays of 335.1 billion dollars.

In the first five months of the 2012 fiscal year starting on October 1 2011, the total budget deficit of the U.S. federal government surpassed 580.8 billion dollars, on pace to exceed 1 trillion dollars for the fourth consecutive fiscal year.
