Baku-APA. The UN Security Council on Thursday condemned "in the strongest terms" the recent terrorist attack in New Delhi, India which was aimed at Israel’s diplomatic personnel as well as the attempted attack in Tbilisi, Georgia, APA reports quoting news.xinhuanet.com website.

"The members of the Security Council condemned the new and recurring acts of violence against diplomatic and consular representatives, which endanger or take innocent lives and seriously impede the normal work of such representatives and officials," said a press statement.

On Feb. 13, four people were injured when an Israeli diplomat’s car was hit by a bomb near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi. On the same day, a staff member of the Israeli embassy in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi discovered a bomb attached to his car when he was heading for home from the embassy. The bomb was later defused by the Georgian police.

"The members of the Security Council reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to peace and security and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivations, whenever and by whomsoever committed," said the press statement issued by the council’s president for the month of February, Kodjo Menan, permanent representative of Togo to the UN.

In the statement, the Security Council reaffirmed the need to " combat by all means" threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts, in accordance with the UN Charter and all obligations under international law.

The Council also underlined the "need to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism to justice, and urged all States...to cooperate actively with all relevant authorities in this regard."
