Baku-APA. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday denounced what she called "cowardly" attacks on Israeli embassy staff in India and Georgia, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"I condemn in the strongest possible terms the bombing of an Israeli diplomatic vehicle in India and the attempted attack on Israeli embassy personnel in Georgia," the top U.S. envoy said in a written statement.

"The scourge of terrorism is an affront to the entire international community," she remarked.

Four people were injured on Monday when an Israeli diplomat’s car was hit by a bomb near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi, while a staff member of the Israeli embassy in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi discovered a bomb attached to his car when he was heading for home from the embassy. The bomb was later defused by the Georgian police.

"The United States places a high priority on the safety and security of diplomatic personnel around the world and we stand ready to assist with any investigation of these cowardly actions," Clinton said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed Iran and Lebanese Shiite armed group Hezbollah for the attacks, a charge denied by Iran.
