Baku-APA. Twelve tourists were rescued in waters off Panama’s Caribbean coast of Bocas del Toro province, Panama’s National Aero-Naval Service (Senan) said, APA reports.

Senan said the tourists, eight Canadians and four Panamanians, had been floating for about six hours near Punta Dayra after their boat broke down because of engine problems.

The tourists were taken to local hospitals for medical evaluations in Bocas del Toro’s port, Chiriqui Grande.

Panamanian Navy units had assisted Senan in the search and rescue mission after an SOS message had been received by local maritime authorities.
