Turkish man kidnapped by gunmen in Nigeria

Baku-APA. A Turkish man was kidnapped by an armed group in southern Nigeria, APA reports quoting Today’s Zaman.

Nigeria’s Thisday newspaper said in its website that a Turkish national, identified as Baran KarakuÅŸ, was abducted by unknown gunmen in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State.

According to the report, KarakuÅŸ is the supervisor with a Nigerian company.

â€œKarakuÅŸ was on duty in the company’s Hilux vehicle, Tuesday morning, when gunmen in a Mercedes Benz 190 car blocked the car he was driving in, shot sporadically into the air and whisked him off to an unknown destination,â€ the report claimed.

The police in Rivers State reportedly confirmed the incident and said investigations were on going, while efforts were also on to ensure the release of the victim.
