Baku-APA. A weeklong pretrial hearing for the Sept. 11 terrorism case has come to a close at Guantanamo Bay without rulings on the most important of more than two dozen motions, APA reports uoting Associated Press.
The judge says he will rule later on security rules for handling classified evidence that defense lawyers argue would make it impossible for them to defend their clients.
Army Col. James Pohl has adjourned the hearing until December at the U.S. military base in Cuba. No defendants attended the last day of the hearing Friday.
Five Guantanamo prisoners face charges that include terrorism and murder for allegedly planning and aiding the Sept. 11 attacks. They could get the death penalty if convicted at a trial that’s at least a year away.
