Baku-APA. Egypt’s president-elect Mohamed Morsi will take oath before the Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC) on Saturday, Egyptian official news agency MENA quoted Vice President of the SCC Maher Samy as saying on Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

In a statement to MENA, Samy announced that Morsi will swear in before the General Assembly of SCC.

Morsi, candidate of Muslim Brotherhood and former chairman of Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, was declared by then spokesman for his campaign Yasser Ali after his victory that he would swear in before the parliament, which had been dissolved by the SCC on June 14.

In another report on Thursday, Yasser Ali, who now served as temporary spokesperson for the president-elect, said Morsi will participate in Friday’s one-million-man demonstration in central Cairo’s Tahrir Square and deliver a speech to the Egyptian people.

It was expected that Morsi’s speech will include all efforts to begin his program for the renaissance of Egypt, the spokesman said.

Egypt held its historic presidential election on May 23-24. Morsi and ex-premier Ahmed Shafiq, the top two candidates in the first round of voting, entered the run-off which kicked off on June 16.

The Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF), which took over power in February 2011, has affirmed that they will hand over power to the new president before the end of June.
