Military spokesman: South Sudan shoots down a Sudanese military jet over South Sudan territory

Baku-APA. South Sudan’s military spokesman says South Sudan shot down a Sudanese military jet flying over its territory, APA reports quoting Associated Press.
Col. Philip Aguer said South Sudanese forces shot down a Sudanese MiG-29 jet fighter Wednesday afternoon.
Aguer said the MiG was one of two Sudanese jets flying over South Sudanese oil fields. Aguer said the jets had dropped "many" bombs in the region earlier Wednesday.
South Sudan split off from Sudan last year after decades of war, but the two countries have been moving closer to military confrontation in recent months.
