Anti-government protesters move 50 km to Libyan capital

Baku – APA. 40 000 of 45-thousand Libyan Army took the side of anti-government protesters and don’t fulfill orders. APA reports quoting the world’s news agencies as saying that the army joined protesters in Benghazi, Al-Bayda, Tobruk and chanted slogans against Gaddafi.

The rioters took control in area 50 km from the Libyan capital and hanged the flag of Libyan monarchy, which was in power before Gaddafi, in Zavia settlement establishing temporary administration together with local tribes there.

Youth opposition movement “17 February” called via Internet all Libyan people, army and police to march to Tripoli on Friday and stated that Gaddafi’s regime will be overthrown on Friday.

Gaddafi invited hired troops from some African countries to defend him. The dictator paid 200-500 dollars daily to the hired forces in the first days of revolt, but now he promised to pay them 18 000 dollars a day. Hired soldiers from Chad, Nigeria and Guinea were ordered to shoot every suspect on the streets.
