Azerbaijan has specified the conditions in which students will become entitled to academic vacation.
This is according to the rules on transferring, exclusion, and readmission of students receiving medical education on bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as taking of academic vacation, which was approved by the Ministry of Education and enacted on 12 December, APA reported.
In the following conditions do students become entitled to academic vacation:
- When summoned to the military service;
- For family conditions - up to 2 years;
- For health - for the period specified in the certificate of the medical consultative commission;
- In case of a social leave – for the term prescribed in the law;
- When traveling to foreign countries for education on the basis of different programs - for the period specified in the program.
Upon their return from the academic vacation, students will be permitted to rejoin the education process from next semester. In case of lack of staff preparation at the previous education facility, the student, upon return, may receive education on other specialties with the permit of the Ministry of Education. In case the student decides to pursue education on the previous specialty, he/she may be transferred to another education facility. In both cases, the issue is reviewed at the Ministry of Education at the request of the education facility concerned.
