The most common methods for increasing a donor bank is an organ transplant from a deceased donor (cadaver), Mirjalal Kazimi, head of the surgery and organ transplant department of the Central Hospital of Oil Workers and member of the Health Ministry’s Coordinating Council on Transplant, told APA on Wednesday.
He noted that the government of Azerbaijan is currently developing a concept of cadaveric organ transplantation.
Kazimi added that one person from Kazakhstan and nine from Georgia have appealed to Azerbaijan’s Health Ministry for the transplantation of kidney and liver.
