In the operations that lasted 1 to 27 December in 2015, 32 Nardaran residents were detained. 22 grenades, 5 AK automatic rifles, 361 cartridges, 2 pistols, 10 Molotov cocktails, 7 knives, 2 obrezes, 4 shotguns, 1 flare pistol, 1 hand-made 3C explosive, 1 pen gun, 2 boxes of gunpowder, 1 brass knuckles, 1 bullet, 1 TT pistol and 6 cartridges were confiscated from them, Sabunchu district police department chief, police colonel Eldar Ilyasov, who participated in the Nardaran operation, said Thursday, APA reported.
In 2016, 5 automatic rifles, 6 pistols, 41 shotguns, 6 Molotov cocktails, 2 crates, 2 cartridges, 3 F1 hand grenades, 28 grenade igniters and 269 different automatic riddle bullets were confiscated.
“This year 2 cartridges, 6 pistols, 39 shotguns, 2 rifles, 9 grenades, 10 ignitors, 1 TT pistol box, 1 cartridge and 820 bullets for various automatic rifles,” said Ilyasov.
Ismayilov said that 14 drug-related facts were revealed in Nardaran in 2016. Twelve of them were the facts of drug use, and 2 – the facts of drug cultivation. In 2017, 20 drug-related facts were revealed. Thirteen of them were the facts of drug use, 5 – drug cultivation and 2 – drug sale.
He clarified the fact that though two years passed since Nardaran events, there are still police posts in the entrance and exit of the township: “The facts that I mentioned before, give us grounds for saying that security and preventive measures should be continued in Nardaran. The analysis shows that there is still the possibility of existence of weapons in Nardaran. This means that there is still a danger. The police should be ready for any danger. These posts hinder no one’s entrance or exit. On the contrary, the police posts are there to ensure the safety of Nardaran residents. Therefore, the posts are not expected to be removed in the near future.”
The police chief noted that no one accused regarding the Nardaran events has avoided responsibility. “All persons accused on this criminal case have been handed over to investigative bodies,” he added.
