The government of Azerbaijan is working to ensure the protection of migrants’ rights, Deputy Head of the State Migration Service Parviz Musayev, said Monday addressing a ceremony dedicated to the International Migrants Day, APA reported.
Musayev said that 38,020 people were given temporary residence permission while 2,752 others received permanent residence permission in Azerbaijan in the first eleven months of 2017.
He noted that 573 people, including 378 stateless persons obtained Azerbaijani citizenship during the reporting period.
“Three applicants, including family members (8 people) were granted refugee status. In general, 67 people (44 applicants and 23 family members) with refugee status are registered by the Migration Service. More than 10,000 foreigners were voluntarily sent to their countries,” added Musayev.
