The situation of the population affected by wreckage after the earthquakes occurred in Khoy city last month, remains miserable, the residents of Khoy city, where the absolute majority of the population is Azerbaijanis told APA.
According to the local residents, although most of the population affected by the destructions shelter in tents, a shortage of tents is experienced: “Moreover, cooling of the weather, falling snow made the situation of our compatriots more miserable. For this reason, part of thousands of people spends the night outside, while the other part either prefers to stay in cars or have to leave the city of Khoy. In addition, a shortage in providing humanitarian aid and warm things are observed. As the roads destructed, the humanitarian aid sent is not delivered to Khoy.”
Residents of Khoy say that currently, small tremors continue, which fear the population: “Majority of population experience humanitarian shortage and psychological trauma.”
Note that though the Azerbaijani side wants to send humanitarian aid to our compatriots, the Iranian side does not allow this.
Remind that more than a thousand people were injured and 3 people died as a result of the earthquakes.
