"One of the global problems that worries the world today is climate change, and our country has not been left out of the influence of global climate change," said the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan during the scientific-practical conference on "Role of Education and Law Enforcement Measures in Strengthening the Environment", APA reports.
The Attorney General has stated that agriculture, water resources, energy, forests, tourism, healthcare sector, and coastal areas in Azerbaijan are vulnerable to climate change: "President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order on December 25, 2023, declaring 2024 as the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" with the aim of increasing attention and strengthening international solidarity in combating this problem.
This order once again proves that Azerbaijan is among the first countries to join global initiatives. On the other hand, declaring 2024 as the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" by our head of state indicates that our activities in this field will expand throughout the year and that efforts to protect the environment will intensify significantly."
