Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian paid an official visit to Kazakhstan, APA reports, citing the press service of the President of Kazakhstan.
Masoud Pezeshkian met with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana.
Speaking to the press with joint statements after the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Iran, which has a high international reputation, is a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the Middle East.
He expressed confidence that Masoud Pezeshkian's visit would give a strong impetus to raising bilateral cooperation to a new level.
According to the Kazakh leader, there is significant potential for strengthening relations in the field of transport and logistics.
Pezeshkian noted that Iran attaches special importance to good-neighborly relations with the Central Asian region.
"Kazakhstan is our important partner in the region and our neighbor bordering the Caspian Sea. We exchanged views with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on current issues. We discussed the prospects for implementing joint projects in many areas, including agriculture, production, mining, transport and logistics, science, culture, and new technologies. I think we will see the results of the negotiations in the near future. The positions of the two countries on international issues coincide," said Masoud Pezeshkian.
