The activities of Basitchay State Nature Reserve and Dashalty State Nature Reserve have been restored, and the maps of their territory and sanitary-protection zones have been approved, said Vugar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and Head of the Working Group, at the meeting of the Working Group on Environmental Issues held in Shusha city, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.
V. Karimov noted that currently, within the framework of restoring the activities of the Arazboyu State Nature Reserve, the draft territorial map of the Reserve is being coordinated with the relevant state authorities.
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has started relevant work for the protection of biodiversity in the liberated territories, including the preservation of natural complexes of special ecological significance, with the aim of creating a new national park. In this regard, the Ministry has prepared a preliminary map-scheme of the proposed new national park covering the territories of Kalbajar, Lachin, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, and it has been coordinated with the relevant state authorities. Work on the creation of the New National Park is currently ongoing.
