The 8th Congress of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC) was held today, APA reports.
The event was attended by congress delegates, representatives of state and non-governmental organizations, heads of trade unions of international organizations and several countries.
The agenda of the congress included a report on the Confederation's activities for 2018-2025, a report of the Inspection Commission, a discussion of the new draft Charter and main directions of activity for the coming period.
Sahib Mammadov, Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, delivered a report and said that support was provided to about 300 thousand members in 2024 and during the first 11 months of this year. According to him, currently 378 children of 209 martyr families are under the care of the Confederation and member organizations. The Chairman noted that the necessary information technology infrastructure has been established to adapt the activities of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan to the requirements of the modern era.
Then the report of the Inspection Commission was heard.
Tural Gasimov, Chairman of the Inspection Commission of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation, said that during the reporting period, 739,480 applications and complaints were received by trade unions. According to him, all applications, complaints and appeals were considered, and 10.5% of them out of 96% were positive.
Araz Pashayev, Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers, Elnara Muradova, Chairwoman of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Healthcare Workers, and Mammad Hasanov, Chairman of the Republican Union of Trade Unions of Agrarian, Ecological and Water Resources Workers, made speeches.
After the discussions, the reports of the ATUC for the inter-congress period and the Inspection Commission, as well as the new Charter, were approved, and future directions of activity were determined. Thus, the VIII Congress of the ATUC completed its work.
