Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences announces results of exams for admission to PhD program

Hashimov said it was announced at the meeting of the Academyâ€™s Presidium that 91 were admitted to the PhD program.
â€œThe Presidium was appealed concerning extra places. As the Presidium made an application to the Cabinet of Ministers concerning extra places, the proposals were accepted, they will be considered and confirmed soon,â€ he said.

â€œOnly one person participated in the competition on some specialties. The candidate, who got 12 scores, 4 from each exam, was admitted to that specialty. But there are specialties, to which the candidates were not admitted with even 15 scores. They will be admitted, after extra places are allocated,â€ he said.

First vice-president said studies will start on January 1. 215 places have been allocated for PhD program of the academy.

It was decided to substitute the unfilled paid places designated for foreign citizens by the free places, the institutes of the academy were allowed to admit Azerbaijani citizens to these places.
