Conference on role of the Russian language held in Baku - <font color=red> PHOTO</font>

Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva â€“ APA. Conference on the theme â€œThe role of the Russian language in the relations among nations, mutual cooperation and cultural relationsâ€ was held in Baku. APA reports that the conference was organized by the Coordination Council of the public organizations of the Russians in Azerbaijan with the support of the Russian embassy.

Addressing the conference advisor at the Russian embassy in Azerbaijan Oleg Krokhin underlined the importance of the Russian language as a means of communication in the South Caucasus.

Bishop Alexander of Azerbaijan and Baku said the Russian language is being taught at secondary and higher schools.
â€œThe native speakers feel at ease in Azerbaijan. The Russian has future in Azerbaijan,â€ he said.

Deputy chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Board Rashad Aliyarli said the Russian language is still a means of communication among nations in the region and tool for studying the Russian literature.

The participants of the conference discussed the protection of interests and rights of the Russians, involvement of the youth in the work of the public organizations, promotion of national customs and traditions among the youth.

Final resolution was adopted at the end of the conference.
