Commission on Aquatic Bioresources of Caspian Sea to hold 32nd meeting in Baku

The chief delegation of the ministries and committees of fish farming of the Caspian littoral countries will participate at the meeting, APA reports with reference to the website of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

According to the agenda of the forthcoming meeting, data will be given regarding the implemented tasks conducted in 2010-2011 on the appropriation of fishing quota, artificial fish breeding, and protection of fish reserves, reports will be submitted concerning the modern-day condition of fish reserves based on the results of marine expeditions and scientific-research works, and the level of total hunting of water bioresources in the Caspian Sea for 2012, and its division into national quotas will be reviewed.

The meeting will also include the elucidation to the elimination of industrial hunting of sturgeon species. In this regard, the suggestion on the removal of industrial hunting of sturgeon species put forward by the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the summit of the heads of the Caspian coastal states held in Baku, on November 18, 2010, was approved by the presidents. The draft treaty “on the conservation of the reserves of sturgeon species in the Caspian Sea” proposed by the Russian Federation will be discussed for the purpose of implementation of the suggestion.
