Azerbaijani delegation in Turkey meets with rector of Konya Selcuk University – <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Welcoming the delegation rector Suleyman Okudan underlined that Turkey and Azerbaijan are fraternal countries. He said he was included in one of the first delegations that visited Baku after Azerbaijan regained its independence.

Noting that Selcuk University has 85 000 students, rector said 1100 of them are foreigners.
“Most foreign students are from Azerbaijan. 260 Azerbaijanis are studying at our university. 200 of them have been studying at the university since the first year,” he said.

Rector mentioned that according to the agreement signed between the Azerbaijani and Turkish educational institutions, Selcuk University is one of the five Turkish universities selected for advanced training of the Azerbaijani students.
“Azerbaijan has sent 60 more students for advanced training at the faculties of medicine, construction engineering, tourism,” he said.

Rector said 11 Azerbaijanis are teaching at the university.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Azerbaijani delegation, MP Fazil Mustafa spoke about the historical roots of the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan. He said it is praiseworthy that discussions on the bilateral relations, their further development are held at the Turkish university with the support of the centers for strategic studies of Azerbaijan and Turkey. The parliamentarian underlined the importance of improving the relations and exchanging experience between the educational institutions of the two countries.

The Azerbaijani delegation includes MP Fazil Mustafa, Director General of APA Group Vusala Mahirgizi, research fellow of Azerbaijan’s Center for Strategic Studies Javid Valiyev and representative of Azerbaijani-Turkish Business Association (ATIB) Rashad Rasullu.
