Nourida Ateshi told APA that the book had been published with the support of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences basing on the reviews of outstanding Azerbaijani historian Farida Mammadova, Kamal Aliyev, archeologists Mubariz Khalilov, Bahlul Ibrahimli, chairman of the parliament’s committee for culture Nizami Jafarov.

The researcher contradicts the views about the Amazons in the international science. She opposed the theses that Amazons were mythology, were Skit, Greek women, first settled in Asia Minor, on the coast of the Black Sea and only after that came to the Caucasus, tried to prove that the first home of Amazons was the South Caucasus, especially Nagorno Karabakh, the ancient Azerbaijani lands.

As a result of the 15-year research, the author for the first time informs the science that the most ancient grave of the fighting woman (dating back to the 2nd millennium B.C.) was found in the territory of “Plovdag-II” in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan, Caucasus was the cradle of metallurgy, Amazons’ arms – axes and gauges for their preparation were found in the South Caucasus, especially in various regions of Azerbaijan, rock paintings in Gobustan show the first traces of the Amazons.

Nourida Ateshi, who is attending the international conference in Azerbaijan on the history of the Caucasian Albania, will publicize her scientific studies in front of the scientists from various countries. The presentation of the book will be held in Baku soon.
