Vienna hosted meeting of world seismologists

The Republican Seismological Service Centre told APA that service director Gurban Yetirmishli and chief of Macro seismic researches department Etibar Garaveliyev attended the meeting. The poster reports on researches conducted on the Earth sciences were listened, the presentation and education markets, the presentation of the modern geophysical equipments, the demonstration and sale of new literatures were organized at the meeting attended by about 1 thousand quests from the various countries of the world.

The research work entitled â€œCalculation of seismic threat for Azerbaijanâ€ was presented in poster report. At the event Yetirmishli delivered a speech on the results of conducted researches. During his speech Yetirmishli gave information on the level of conducted seismological researches and the application â€œKinemetricsâ€ stations used for the seismic monitoring and on the seismic stations which will be installed by Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea.

Garaveliyev made a report on the strong quakes felt in Azerbaijanâ€™s territory and on the conducted macro seismic researches. The researches of the Azerbaijani scientists roused interest in a group of meeting participants, the agreements in direction of establishment mutual relations with the institutes of several foreign countries were achieved at the meeting.
