Armenia expelled from Eurodoc

Baku – APA. The European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers’ (Eurodoc) Annual Conference and General Meeting 2011 were held in Vilnius, Lithuania from March 31 to April 4, 2011. According to APA, Azerbaijani delegation led by president of the Azerbaijani Society of Junior Researchers, Doctoral Candidates and Master of Arts, director of the Center of Youth Intellectual Development of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy Ilgar Orujov attended the meeting. Azerbaijan joined Eurodoc and the presentation of the country took place at this meeting. Armenia was expelled from the organization by a majority of vote due to inactivity of its Ecosocium organization, which represented Armenia in Eurodoc.

The annual conference made some amendments to Eurodoc Charter and discussed the issues of election of new Governing Board, Secretariat and financial commission. President of the French Confederation of Young Researchers Ludovic Garattini was elected the Eurodoc president.

Preparation for the Annual Conference 2012 in Poland, further duties of the organization, activity of member countries were also on agenda.

Azerbaijani delegation’s visit was sponsored by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Baku City Youth and Sports Office.
