Abel Mahrarramov: â€œArmenian-origin students play a role in calls for youth mass actionâ€

Our students and professors send them messages protesting these callsâ€, Rector of the Baku State University, member of the parliament Abel Maharramov told journalist speaking about the calls for youthâ€™ 11 March mass action via www.facebook.com.

Maharramov said Armenian-origin students played a role in such calls: â€œUnfortunately, Armenian-origin students cross up our students abroad and send them various offers via Internet. Why Armenian-origin students do that? They are doing that because the situation in Armenia is very hard today, but Azerbaijan is developing dynamically. They choose this way because they fear of Azerbaijan and therefore they are making various calls on the Azerbaijani students. All of BSUâ€™s professors and students rejected these calls. No one from our university will attend such meetings. I can prove that on the basis of messages of our studentsâ€.

Maharramov said there are 18 000 students in the Baku State University now and large majority of them support the statehood of Azerbaijan. â€œThe young people in Azerbaijan, including at the Baku State University, are getting education on the basis of democratic thinkingâ€.
