Grant contract signed for new social project funded by Japanese government

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. The signing ceremony of grant contract for “The project for improvement of the life of people/children with disabilities and inclusion into society” funded by Japanese government was held in Baku on Monday. According to APA, Japan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Shusuke Watanabe said at the signing ceremony that the project aimed to make the life of people, including children with disabilities comfortable and to ease their integration into society and to make them to understand that they have no differences with other people.

Deputy Minister of Education Isgandar Isgandaov said the project would support the disabled people’s inclusion into society.

Department Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers Gurban Sadikhov said the government took serious measures to improve the life of disabled people and to support their integration into society.

The grant contract was signed by Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Shusuke Watanabe and the representative of the implementing organization “World Vision Japan”.

The project will be implemented within the framework of the “Grant Aid for Japanese NGO Projects” provided by the government of Japan to assist for social development project being undertaken by Japanese NGO in the developing countries.

The project will facilitate inclusion of people/children with special needs into society by means of two ways – contribute to the development of adequate environment for inclusive education and facilitate community mobilization and support to the social inclusion of people/children with special needs into community life.
