Protocol of intent to build French school signed in Baku
First Lady of Azerbaijan highly appreciated the Azerbaijan-France relations and characterized the opening of this school as the next step in successful cooperation between the countries in all spheres. “I hope the French school will be opened soon in our country and it will have positive impact on education in Azerbaijan. Today the development of education is a priority in Azerbaijan. This school will give strong impetus to this processâ€.
French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller thanked Mehriban Aliyeva for her support and said this remarkable event was important thing for the Azerbaijani-French relationship.
Speaking about the government support to the development of education in Azerbaijan, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov specially underlined the work and projects carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the sphere of education. The minister said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was realizing its largest projects in the field of education. More than 300 schools were built on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation so far.
Speaking about the economic achievements and useful investment environment of Azerbaijan, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said foreign investors’ interest to the country was increasing. He said this school would be good present for the children of Francophone people who come to work in Azerbaijan.
Then President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and Minister of Education Misir Mardanov signed the protocol of intent to build French school in Baku.
The school, which will create opportunity for the education of Francophone people residing in Azerbaijan permanently or temporarily, as well as for the Azerbaijani citizens, who intend to get education in French, will meet interests of both countries. It will have education program according to the French national education system and will turn into the important factor of educational, cultural and linguistic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the protocol, the French school’s education plan will be based on the classic French model implemented in 12-year general education center including the pre-school education.
The education program will be in French and will meet requirements of the French national education system. The school’s diploma will meet the standards and requirements of the French national education ministry and be recognized by the French government. The school graduates will have an opportunity to develop their education at the universities of France. The new education center will create an opportunity for growing of high professionals in future and extend opportunities of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Mehriban Aliyeva said she was hopeful for further useful cooperation.
