Baku. Vahab Rzayev - APA-Economics. “The cancellation of summer time in Azerbaijan is not expected.

The decision is in force and the Cabinet of Ministers didn’t receive any proposal about the cancellation of this decision”, chairman of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent Ramiz Hasanov told APA commenting on the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s decision to cancel winter and summer time in his country. According to the resolution No 21 of the Cabinet of Ministers issued on March 17, 1997 Azerbaijan switches to summer time last Saturday of March. It switches to winter time last Saturday of October. The State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent controls the fulfilment of the decision.

Hasanov said switching to summer time was useful for energy, natural gas saving and maximum using the daylight.
