Scientific seminar on occasion of Safer Internet Day held at Information Technologies Institute

Scientific seminar on the occasion of the Safer Internet Day -February 8 was held at the Information Technologies Institute of Azerbaijanâ€™s National Academy of Sciences, APA reports. Director of the Institute Rasim Aliguliyev said Safer Internet Day was declared in 2004 under the decision of the European Commission. This significant event is marked in over 60 countries under various slogans. The main mission of the events coordinated by the Internet Safety Awareness for Europe (INSAFE) is to promote safe use of the Internet, raise awareness of the young generation concerning threats in the global network.

According to Rasim Aliguliyev, the popularization of the network technologies results in the increase of cyber-crimes, threats.
â€œThe viruses and spams used to cause inconvenience to the separate users, now this is a global problem. The major essence of this day is to draw attention of the world community to the increasing internet threats. International legal theses should be worked out to regulate the internet. All countries should act on the international level against the internet threats. Scientists should especially do much. They should find ways to prevent internet threats,â€ he said.
