Municipal universities to be established in Azerbaijan

According to the regulations, establishment and activity of political parties and religious bodies are forbidden at higher education establishments. Uniform of the students is determined in accordance with the regulations of this educational establishment. For type of properties universities are divided into 3 categories in Azerbaijan â€“ state, municipal and private.

State Universities the Ministry of Education gives termless license, to municipal and private universities established by individuals and legal entities for 5 years, to higher educational establishments established by foreigners and non-state people, foreign legal entities for 3 years.

According to the document, some structural points of universities may have status. Staff training includes 3 levels in Azerbaijani universities: Bachelor’s programme (except medical education); Master’s programme (except medical education); Doctorate. There are full-time attendance, correspondence study, distance education and non-residence education levels in higher education step. After graduation medical students receive level of doctor and doctors & specialist degrees of professional qualification. Term of main medical education programmes is 5-6, in residency â€“ 2-5 years. This term is determined in accordance with education programs of several specialties.

According to regulations, doctorate is realized in higher educational establishments and at scientific organizations and finishes with granting a scientific level. There are Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science scientific levels have been determined in Azerbaijan.
