He noted that though closed working condition of poultry plants, letter has been sent to the regional veterinary stations and other responsible persons in order to switch to heavy working schedule: “We have also sent a letter to State Customs Committee asking to disinfect all cars and people arriving in the country”.

Shahbazli said that in order to prevent bird flu threat, bird hunting had been forbidden temporarily: “Poultries are also kept in closed areas”.

Shahbazli assessed epizootic situation in the country as normal and added that it is incorrect to use meat of dead animals in sausage production. “People must understand that carcass of a dead animal is source of illness. Eating of its meat is strictly forbidden. If anyone sells such meat to the sausage factories, both factory and seller must be punished. We have not an authority to enter the factory and conduct inspection there. It is the duty of law-enforcement bodies”.
