Baku hosts international conference on theme â€œPeace through Womenâ€

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva â€“ APA. Today Baku hosts international conference on the theme â€œPeace through Womenâ€ initiated by â€œAzeri-Turkishâ€ Women Union, APA reports. The event had a purpose to organize the dialogue between Azerbaijani and Armenian women. Though Chairman of Armenian Women Organization Rubina Ter-Martirosyan and head of Armenian committee on hostages and captives Rima Arakelyan were to attend the event, at the supreme moment they said that they would not come. Though they said that they will attend the event, yesterday at 24:00 they refused to attend it owing to their security. Also it was noted that security of Armenian representatives had been ensured beforehand.

Chairman of â€œPeace through Womenâ€ project Belgian Senator Dominique Tillmans said that first dialogue within the framework of this project had been held in Georgia. This is second meeting. The 3rd meeting will be held in Yerevan on March 8 next year. Chairperson of â€œAzeri-Turkishâ€ Women Union Tanzila Rustamkhanli agreed to Yerevanâ€™s hosting the meeting. The 4th meeting will be in Nagorno Karabakh on May 9 next year.
