It will be eliminated gradually”, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov told journalists, APA reports.

Difference of the state financed NGOs is that they depend on state less than those non-governmental organizations which cooperate with international donors. Hasanov said that the reason of it is that state financed NGOs receive means not directly, but by the Council.

“I think that it is transition period and will continue till the NGOs form themselves. To my mind, today, the state supports NGOs and this support is necessary. In spite of what say or write some international organizations, civil society has developed in Azerbaijan within 19 years of independency”, said Deputy PM.

Hasanov considers that by keeping priority spheres, the state has to pass other spheres to non-governmental organizations: “And load of the state may lighten in such a way. The state must engage in priority spheres. This process is already going”.

Moreover, he added that currently, all conditions had been created for activity of NGOs in Azerbaijan. Today there are more than 2600 NGOs in Azerbaijan and 107 of them are international NGOs.

Government official said that civil society existing in some countries tries to apply their model in other countries: “Some countries apply their practice in some countries for development of civil society. And sometimes they endeavor. I have my own opinion on this issue. I think that there is not a common form in development of civil society which you can apply in each country. Each country, nation has its own way of living and national mentality. It is not honestly to try to pursue a common form to any country”.
