He said UNESCO has not submitted its report and recommendations for the institute merger yet.
Karimov said he would visit UNESCO headquarters to discuss the Academy reforms and added that they are expected to sign a document about that. “The government of Japan allocated grant for the UNESCO experts to continue reforms. The document will be signed between the three sides – Azerbaijan, UNESCO and Japanâ€.
ANAS president said the UNESCO experts are expected to visit Baku again early next year to discuss this issue. They will conduct final research and analyses, prepare final document and submit to Azerbaijan.
Regarding the direction of the institute merger, Karimov said he couldn’t give details: “We conducted preliminary analyses, but there is no absolute decision about thatâ€.
