Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. Students from Baku International School celebrated Earth Day April 22 at the U.S. Embassy garden sowing seeds for a greener future.
According to APA, joined by Charge d’Affaires Donald Lu, the youngsters planted small trees and learned talked with Embassy staff about the importance of environmental protection and recycling of waste products. “Earth Day is an opportunity to remind ourselves that the most important thing we can do is to share with our children how to care for the environment,†said Mr. Lu.
Earth Day, founded in the United States in 1970 as environmental awareness grew, has spread around the world as a day to focus on the importance of protecting our natural surroundings.
