Washington. Isabel Levine–APA. Washington DC based Hudson Institute hosted a book launch event to introduce a new book named “The Other Muslims: Moderate and secularâ€. The book was edited by Senior Fellow and Director of the Center for Eurasian Policy Ms. Zeyno Baran, APA Washington correspondent reports.
“The Other Muslims†is unique collection of essays by moderate Muslims from Europe and the United States, with varied backgrounds in academia, theology, acting, and civic activism. They write convincingly that Westerners place democracy and universal human rights at grave risk if they ignore the political-ideological threat Islamists pose through their narrow interpretation of Islam.
Among the book’s contributors are M. Zuhdi Jasser and Hedieh Mirahmadi. The book can be purchased both from the Hudson Institute’s bookstore and from Amazon.
Zeyno Baran is known as a prominent expert on Azerbaijan and a wife of former OSCE Minsk group American Co-chair Matthew Bryza.
