Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations holds board meeting on outcomes of 2009 - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov made a report on the work done in 2009.

Kamaladdin Heydarov said the work continued to improve the structure of the ministry, strengthen its logistics and normative legal basis in 2009. The construction norms and rules, safety measures were controlled in 2421 establishments. 966 establishments were warned for eliminating the shortcomings, the relevant bodies were appealed to stop the electricity and water supply of 544 establishments.

77,000 establishments were registered in the country in the reporting year. Attentive fire hazard inspections were carried out in 65,000 establishments, controlling fire hazard inspections in 39,000 of them. Over 430,000 proposals were made to eliminate the shortcomings, 154,000 of them were realized. 600 facts of violation of fire and construction safety were revealed in 370 historical and cultural monuments and 10 tourism centers. Official appeal was made to the relevant bodies to eliminate them.

In order to ensure safe work in industry and ore mining, to prevent possible accidents in time, 28572 devices underwent technical examination in 2009, 13276 violations were revealed as a result of the examinations. 2063 official appeals were made in connection with the observation of operating rules, the operation of 654 devices was suspended in connection with the violation of the operating rules, 10392 violations were eliminated.

Kamaladdin Heydarov noted that the operation of 2606 non-standard water heaters, 2426 gas stoves without certificates was stopped, 3825 rubber tubes and 891 gas pipelines constructed beyond project were abolished.

Minister said amendments and annexes had been made to a number of laws, the Cabinet of Ministers confirmed appropriate normative documents in 2009. He also gave information about the events held by various structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The ministryâ€™s plan of activities for 2010 was confirmed at the board meeting.

In the end, Kamaladdin Heydarov presented orders, medals and honorary titles to the officers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations awarded under the order issued by Azerbaijani President in 2009.
