# 16 February 2010 12:16 (UTC +04:00)
The weather temperature rose to 20 C. It was 14 C higher than the yesterday’s temperature, executive director of the weather forecast bureau of the National Hydro-Meteorology Department of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Umaira Tagiyeva told APA. She said it was not record, but the temperature rose to 20 C in February for only four times in the past 20 years. The similar weather conditions were observed in 1991, 1992, 2002 and 2005. Tagiyev said abnormal heat was caused by southern warm air currents.

The south wind is intensifying currently as a result of cyclone passed into the northern part of the Caspian Sea from the Black Sea regions, but its is expected to be followed by the north wind towards the evening, said Tagiyeva. The north wind will make the temperature down to 6-8 C in the evening.

The most dangerous condition for the human health is not a temperature rise, but lowering of atmosphere pressure by 10-12 mm of mercury column today. The atmosphere pressure is expected to rise sharply this evening. The pressure oscillation is not suitable for the weather-sensitive people, said Tagiyeva.
