Aerosvit to cut 90% of the staff

According to APA-Economics, the remaining staff will be engaged in service in long-haul flights. At present, Aerosvit operates flights from Kiev to New York, Beijing, Goa, Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok.

According to some reports, Ukraine International Airlines intends to recruit about 400 employees of Aerosvit. It has already transferred two Boeing-737-800 aircrafts from Aerosvit.

Note that the Aerosvit canceled a number of international flights, including Kiev-Baku, Kiev-Prague, Kiev-Warsaw, Kiev-Copenhagen, Kiev-Stockholm, Kiev-Yerevan and etc.

Previously, Aerosvit Airline addressed to the Kiev region Economic Court with a bankruptcy petition. The judgment states that, as of December 27, 2012 the company has a debt to the creditors in the amount of 537.5 million U.S. dollars, the gross book value of assets makes 184.6 million U.S. dollars. Kiev region Economic Court has sued bankruptcy case on December 29.
